Matthew Charles Sanders was born on July 31st 1981 in Huntington Beach California. He is the lead singer in a band called Avenged Sevenfold. Matthew was expelled from 6 different Huntington Beach schools. He was known as “The kid who killed the principal” After the principal had a heart attack. He had a good heart but a bad attitude. He went to a private school for a year but got kicked out for smashing a woman’s windows in 6th grade. Matthew got his stage name ‘M. Shadows’ when he was attending Huntington beach school. He was the darker kid of the band; He also wanted to have part of his name so Matthew was changed to ‘M’.
Band names are one of the toughest things any group can do; the name Avenged Sevenfold is not only unique but stands for a lot. The name captures the essence. Avenged Sevenfold is based on the biblical story of Gods wrath upon killing able. It reflects who they are and what they stand for, and what they believe in.
Avenged Sevenfold was formed in the summer of 1999 in Huntington Beach California. Brian, (Synyster Gates) met the rest of the band through ‘The Rev’ Brian and the Rev met in Metal shop back in 8th grade when the rev started to make fun of Brian, but they both relived they had a love for music, So they made the band Avenged Sevenfold with Zacky, Johnny, and Matthew.
Matthew listened to a lot of punk-rock music, but got into the metal scene when his father brought him ‘Appetite for Destruction’ by Guns N’ Roses. Matthew feels strong about the troops serving the war in Iraq. Matthew sings in the band Avenged Sevenfold, but he played the Piano before he started to sing. Matthew doesn’t like to read a lot.
Matthew formed a number of bands with Rhythm Guitarist Zacky Vengeance. Matthew was in a band called ‘Successful Failure’ witch penned the song ‘streets.’ Now he is in Avenged Sevenfold with Synyster Gates on Lead Guitar, and Back-up Vocals, Zacky Vengeance, on Rhythm Guitar and back-up vocals, Johnny Christ, on Bass and back-up vocals, and The Rev on Drums, percussion, Piano and Back-up vocals. Their former members were Matt Wendt- Bass, Deamon Ash- Bass, and Justin Sane as Bass, They went through 3 Bassits to get the perfect one.
In conclusion, Matthew is a very talented singer with a good heart, but a bad attitude but he will always be a great inspiration to all. I hope he will keep his career going for as long as he can.

Hey(: I’m Megan and I’m a seventh grader at Mayfield Middle School in America. I read your blog and I can’t really say that I’m into rock music, I’m more into rap. I also read your story Forever Remembered it was really good. I’m also wondering if the story has something to do with your life, and if so what? I read your paragraphs about animals; I am also an animal lover! Anyways, I’m not an A+ student but I do usually try my best to be, so what kind of grades do you get? And do you like school or is it hard for you? I also have a few more questions to ask you, do you play any sports, if so what sports? I play basketball and soccer. Hi Megan, Forever Remembered is just a story that i thought of to remember all the people who died in the 9/11 and the time i started my story when my dad was leaving for work on a plane so i thought about the 9/11.! Well i do get pretty good grades, not the best i could but i will try harder. School is pretty good, i have some truble in math but no the most. Sports i play are Dance, Volleyball, and soccer. I enjoyed learning about you too, you seem Awesome!!! :]]
